Depreciation
The yearly write-down of machinery, buildings and equipment as they wear out. No cash leaves the company — it is an accounting charge spreading an old purchase across the years it is used.
Example
A ₹100 cr plant expected to last 10 years is charged at about ₹10 cr a year, even though the ₹100 cr was spent once.
