QIP (Qualified Institutional Placement)

The company sells new shares to large institutions — funds, insurers, banks — in one go. It is the quickest way for a listed company to raise money, and it dilutes existing holders the same way.

Example

A company needing Rs 500 crore for a new plant can raise it from a few funds in days, rather than running a public offer for weeks.
