Net margin trend
Which way profit margin is moving, measured in percentage points a year. A point is a step on the margin itself, not a share of it.
Example
A margin going 12% → 10% → 8% is falling about 2 points a year. That is a fall of 2 points, not a fall of 2% — losing 2% of a 12% margin would only take it to 11.76%.
